Methodology to Evaluate Cost and Accuracy of Parking Patrol Surveys

Parking duration is an important element in reflecting the parking demand, very often a patrol survey is conducted to obtain the data. This paper introduces an analytical model to understand the effects of survey cost and other inputs on survey accuracy in a systematic and generalized way, so that one can obtain high quality results from the patrol survey while keeping costs to a minimum.
