The People’s Museum

Can a museum be a force for change in a city? Inspired by citizen-led solidarity initiatives, the Urban-Think Tank Chair and Baier Bischofberger have redefined the iconic, but neglected, Historical Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina – not as an institution dedicated solely to the display of objects, but as a multifunctional urban space. ‘The People’s Museum’ project proposes temporary strategies of adaptive reuse that will catalyze long-term structural and programmatic improvements.
