Cooperative Production of Low-Cost Housing – Socio-Technological Innovation for the Provision of Housing for Low-Income Populations

As part of the Scientific & Technological Cooperation Programme Switzerland – Rio de Janeiro (STCPSRJ), the Chair of Prof. Dr. Marc Angélil has launched this three-year research project in January. A joint research between the Institute of Urban Design (ISB) at the Department for Architecture of ETH Zurich and the IPPUR (Instituto de Pesquisa e Planejamento Urbano e Regional) of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, the study will take advantage of a long tradition of cooperative urban practices in each national context, and will explore cooperative models for affordable housing development, construction and management.
