Aircraft noise remains a major issue in airport development and spatial planning, especially in densly populated European airport regions. The Zurich Airport is one such example; an integrated solution for future airport development and spatial planning is necessary. Current improvements in aviation technology focus on mitigating aircraft noise at its source, which could foster better long-term integration between airports and their surrounding regions.
